Vertaling droom.

10 augustus 2011

It started in a forest.
A distorted forest, the apples fall upwards, and the leaves drift back to the branches.
Something's terribly wrong here, something has got to go wrong.
And it did.

I found a clearing in the woods.
And I stumbled upon a few kids, who were playing hopscotch there.
The boy was wearing colourfull cloths, as opposed to the girl with her dark little dress.
They were laughing giggling, having fun, but spoke dirt.
The most obscene words were given birth to, and the air reeked of childish rebellion.
I walked up to the boy, who was standing closest to me, and told him those words weren't ment to be said, let alone for children of his age.
He turned around to face me..

He had one eye, and his mouth was deformed and vertical..
He looked at me for a brief moment, and for one moment, i thought he would attack me.
He looked so fierce, and unnatural expression for a boy his age.
I wondered how i could even recognize expression on such a deformed face.
Instead of attacking me, he whispered:
"I don't believe."
He turned around and went back to the hopscotch course.
The girl just looked at me, I couldn't see her face, but I was sure it wasn't normal either.. As she tilted her head, her smile was revealed for just a split second before her hair hid it again.
It's such a shame to hide a child's smile from the world.

I couldn't fully comprehend the moment, so i shook my head and moved on.
I chose not to follow a path, and just walk my way through the bushes.
Another clearing.
Afraid of what i was gonna find, my sight turned blurry for a bit.
You know, what happens when you're stuck in your head and can't follow what's happening outside.

Something touched me.

With eyes wide open, i turned around.
A welcoming smile, and a hand on my shoulder.
The man who surprised me made me think of a ringmaster. He had the outfit, the mustache.
I felt welcomed, but unsafe.
"How do you feel?"
His voice was beyond words. Even though he spoke softly, it was a deep voice.
I didn't trust him. I didn't like him.
Get me out of here.

He made an inviting gesture, and pointed at a house.
A house in the middle of this distorted forest.
There was a sign that said: "The Universe".
It reminded me of a church, somehow.
This wasn't safe, I had to leave.
But ofcourse, i answered his invitation with a smile, and i entered the building.

"These are the people that didn't believe."

Children.
Deformed faces.
Smiles.
Grins.

Grins...

There was a crowd of children, with faces much like the boy that was playing hopscotch earlier. None identical to eachother, none the same.
They each took a seat on chairs of impossibly intense colours.
I looked around for a moment, and decided to sit at a table in the corner.
There were three chairs, all black.
The moment i sat down, the lights went down.
My eyes had to adjust for a moment.

I wasn't sure, but someone seemed to be skulking around the edges of the room.
The moment I convinced myself someone was there, he disappeared..
I shook my head, and focused on the the new center of attention.
A light was lit, revealing a bald person who looked like a priest.
He didn't just look like one.. He was one.
He had this.. How do you call it, air, over him.
I didn't trust him either.

He started to talk.
He had a resonating voice, but i couldn't understand a word.
I hated his voice, i hated the words he spoke.
I hated those words i couldn't hear.
The priest was trying to convert the children. The children raised their little fists, some seemed to pray instead.
What was happening?..
Something happened, something, somewhere, went wrong.
The scene itself didn't change, but the people did.
The priest started sweating, even though he didn't seem to notice.
The children turned black and white, like an old movie.
For some reason, the light that illuminated the priest, emitted a grey light.
My eyes wide open, i dug my nails into my arms to calm down.
I freaked out.
This all happened in my head.
Someone laughed.

Behind the priest, a figure popped up.
I knew the person, but i couldn't recognize him just now.
He was wearing a tailcoat and fancy hat.
He didn't fit in here.
The priest didn't notice him, even though the stranger seemed to be breathing in his neck.
His eyes scared me.
That person was me!
It took a moment to comprehend this.
If that person there was myself, who was i? I inspected my arms and saw the same scars and bite-marks...
I was me..
We were both me.
I blinked, and in that split second, the other me seemed to have changed cloths. He was wearing a joker's outfit now, and had an unnaturally wide grin.
This can't be good, something's going down.
And so it did.

Long nails where buried in the priest's temple, and penetrated the skull.
I could hear the cracking sounds, and hear the other me laugh, louder then before.

The children?
The children were quiet.

The joker pushed over the priest, showing no further intrest.
The blood was gray aswell.

Let's start the killing.

It was a rythmic killing spree.
It was beautifull, horrifying and enchanting.
There were no lifes left to take, i didn't count my own.
As the other me walked towards me, he somehow changed back to the tailcoat.
He looked at me with an unsettling smile.
He took my hand, I was afraid at first,
but he simply shook my hand and grinned. He nodded like he was accepting a trade, and let go of my hand.
I didn't get it..
A girl entered the room.
She caught my eye, and wouldn't let go.
Her humble posture took a hold of me and wouldn't let go.
It took a while for me to notice she was wearing a maid's outfit, and brought us coffee.
The three chairs now got some meaning.
She sat down next to me, leaving one chair for the other me.
It made sense, but i didn't get it..
Why?
I took her hand, and kissed it.
The other me took her other hand, and did the same.
I felt uncomfortable, having to share her with "myself".
It felt like she made a choice, she rested her head on my shoulder, but didn't let go of the other hand.
For a split second, the other seemed tranquil.
But not for long.
He got the same wide smile as when he stood behind the priest.
He took a breath, you could hear his breathing changing from calm to wicked.
He asked us;
"What's the difference between gasoline and milk?"
What a silly question..
The maid and i both shrugged.
"Well, milk is not in your coffee!"
This seemed so silly and illogical.
But then it hit us.
A sudden smack to the head, the gasoline kicked in.
We both fell to the ground, while the other me was laughing louder then ever..
She laid on top of me.
This whole scene didn't make sense. What was going o-
I had to breath manually. Gasping for air,I dug my nails into her back.
I tried to tell her I was sorry, but there was no air left.
She kissed me. Sweeter then I imagined. When she broke the kiss, a little string of spittle remained, connecting us.
It shone like the gasoline, colourfull reflections.
Her eyes changed. they reflected with the same colours as the spittle.
With a sly grin, and teeth showing, she revealed her inner beast.
Wether it was under influence or truly her, didn't matter for the moment.
This was unnatural, somebody save us.
The taste, the colours and the excitement of the moment seemed to turn her on.
This is not normal.
Make it stop.
She, in turn, dug her nails into my chest, and started scratching.
The wound got deeper and deeper.
She seemed to like it..
This is insane..
Why do i like it?
Why am i giving in?
The deepest, unearthly sting i had ever felt.
I shook, my whole body shook, but she just grinned and continued.
She pushed her hand through, and took a hold of my heart.
At first caressing it with her fingers, then tightening her grip and starting to pull.
She bit me on my neck, my shoulder and my arm, she went insane.
Humanity ceased to exist at that very moment.

And i swear, at that moment,
my body surrendered.
My vision was blurring.
This was it.
And all was black,
black as night,
and black was all.

Something's terribly wrong here, something has got to go wrong.
And it did.
